The Bigger PICTURE



Imagine two simple loving couples, the beginning of a journey together forever. A simple wedding, nothing much to shout about. And a bridal car, with a Proton logo in front and a lettering which reads "Saga" at the back.

Together at the back of the car, a simple promise uttered by the bridegroom to his beloved groom that mattered the most...

20 years on now, the lady is living a wonderful life, great children, a loving husband and YES, driving a Mercedes to work everyday.

This is a real life story which I believe we can really learn a lot from. I'll leave the positives to you readers

As for myself, this will always be the constant reminder to me that I should always look at the bigger picture, and to the future with a goal in mind.

Went green. Went LED.

Let's start things off with a lil discovery that I found very intriguing. It happened on a day when my baby (Neo CPS) was still around when I sent it for a car wash. With time to spare, I walked around a nearby Tesco just to see what useful stuff I can find. As I enter the LCD section, I was just glancing through all the displayed LCD until one particular screen caught my attention. My eyes was practically glued to that screen. It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen.

It was an LED-backlighted LCD screen!


To make it short, I'll just call it an LED TV. Prior to this I did only see some TV advertisements on Samsung's LED technology which I didn't really payed much attention to. But after seeing it, it totally took my breathe away. It's as what you would call it, "see your screen come to LIVE".
Seriously, you gotta see it! Put on a HD DVD or a Blu-Ray movie into it and you would be amazed.

To make a long story short, I did get my hands on a wide screen LED monitor just 2 days ago. A "premium" monitor from Samsung measuring at 23" with what they claim "finger-slim" panel which of course is looking all hawt and sexy sitting right in front of me right now.

Super slim panel. It makes a thin person like me feel fat.


And compared to my old Samsung 17", it's also super light weight considering it is a MUCH LARGER 23" monitor. I'm still actually getting used to staring at such a big screen but with an amazing aesthetic and outstanding picture quality, it would be a pampering for the eyes to say the least.


Now all that's left to do is test it out in FULL HD content which I'm sure is going to be AMAZING! :)

Baby admitted in ICU

First off, I gotta apologize for not being around for some time now as I just don't really have time to post or blog about anything. Even if I have, it would mostly consist of work which are boring stuffs to you. Anyways, here I am again with a couple of stuffs which happened during the past week or so.Before I go into some good stuff, lets begin with some tragic news on my baby. If you haven't know, my car is not even 4 months old and its been sent to the garage recently. It was involved in a freak accident which I'm not gonna go into details since I'll probably get laughed by you just like how the police did when I told her how I got into this accident. Anyways, I'll just upload a few pics of my baby Sapphire.


It happened on a early Monday 26th of July while I was about to head for work. Its more than a week now and still the car is not ready cuz there are no available spare parts. (wheel fenders and side skirting) Miss my car so much.

And by the way, while I was about to head home from Proton center, I happened to notice a few other Neo CPS parking around. A few are new ones that are ready for delivery while there's one which is pretty much f*cked up from a bad car accident. Below are the pictures of my baby's proud siblings.

Sorry bout that, I just can't get this Justin Bieber's song outta my head. Anyway, back to the post. I just got myself a new basketball (or all purpose) shoe which cost me 400 bucks. Pretty pricey but after testing it out on the court, it's definitely worth every penny. Its the fourth installment of Kobe Bryant's line in Nike and although a fifth has already been released, this shoe still looks pretty amazing.

I've been eyeing this shoe ever since it came out more then a year ago and finally I'm able to get my hands on it. Weighing at 11.6 ounces, it is considered one of the lightest basketball sneakers back when it was release and from my one time experience, I gotta say this shoe is definitely awesome as its light and also very comfy inside.

... I think my feet is having an obsession and pretty much addicted to the shoe now.

Seriously, like 2 days ago (9th May) I was lying on my bed and I felt that tremor created from the earthquake which hit Indonesia. And today, before I could go to sleep, I felt the same thing which really got me out of my bed and on to the internet to search for any earthquakes. Of course I found one from http://www.met.gov.my/ which reads...

Latest Earthquake 11 May 2010
A weak earthquake has occurred with magnitude 4.9 on Richter scale in Philippine Islands Region at 2:56am 11 May 2010. The earthquake epicentre is located at 19.4 North latitude and 122.2 east longitude, 1506km Northeast of Kudat,Sabah.

But this is seriously killing me and I might just be developing a tremor phobia here. I mean its not a nice experience to be feeling the room shaking and also knowing that there are actually lil bit and pieces of cracks on my walls now which I have no idea if it was there long before or has it just began to fall apart.

... and before I go, may god protect the ones that are most affected by these natural disasters.

True Love Story - Life Together

One fine day, an old couple around the age of 70, walks into a lawyer's office.
Apparently, they are there to file a divorce.

Lawyer was very puzzled, after having a chat with them, he got their story....
This couple had been quarreling all their 40 over yrs of marriage nothing ever seems to go right.

They hang on because of their children, afraid that it might affect their up-bringing. Now, all their children have already grown up, have their own family, there's nothing else the old couple have to worry about, all they wanted is to lead their own life free from all these years of unhappiness from their marriage, so both agree on a divorce....

Lawyer was having a hard time trying to get the papers done, because he felt that after 40 yrs of marriage at the age of 70, he couldnt understand why the old couple would still want a divorce..

While they were signing the papers, the wife told the husband..
"I really love u, but i really cant carry on anymore, I'm sorry.."
"Its o.k, i understand.." said the husband. Lookin at this, the lawyer suggested a dinner together, just 3 of them,wife thought, why not, since they are still gonna be friends..

At the dining table, there was a silence of awkardness.
The first dish was roasted chicken, immediately, the old man took the drumstick for the old lady.."take this, its your favourite.."

Looking at this, the lawyer thought maybe theres still a chance, but the wife was frowning when she answer.."
This is always the problem, you always think so highly of yourself, never thought about how I feel, dont you know that i hate drumsticks?"

Little did she know that, over the years, the husband have been trying all ways to please her, little did she know that drumsticks was the husband's favourite. Little did he know that she never thought he understand her at all, little did he know that she hates drummsticks even though all he wants is the best for her.

That night, both of them couldnt sleep, toss and turn, toss and turn...after hours, the old man couldnt take it anymore, he knows that he still loves her, and he cant carry on life without her, he wants her back, he wants to tell her, he is sorry, he wanted to tell her "i love you"...

He picks up the phone, starting dialing her number....ringing never stops..he never stop dialing....

On the other side, she was sad, she couldn’t understand how come after all these years, he still doesnt understand her at all, she loves him a lot, but she just cant take it anymore....phone's ringing, she refuses to answer knowing that its him..."whats the point of talking now that its over...i have ask for it and now i wanna keep it this way, if not i will lose face.."she thought...still ringing...she have decided to pull out the cord...

Little did she remember, he have heart problems...

The next day, she received news that he had passed away...she rushed down to his apartment, saw his body, lying on the couch still holding on to the phone...he had a heart attack when he was still trying to get through her phone line....

As sad as she could be...she will have to clear his belongings...when she was looking thru the drawers, she saw this insurance policy, dated from the day they got married, with the beneficiary being her... And together in those file, there was this note...

"To my dearest wife, by the time you're reading this, I'm sure I'm no longer around, I bought this policy for you, though the amount is only $100k, I hope it will be able to help me continue my promise that i have made when we got married, I might not be around anymore, I want this amount of money to continue taking care of you, just like the way I will if I could have live longer. I want you to know Iwill always be around, by your side... I love you"

Tears flowed like river......

Neo CPS experience


Alright, after two and a half months of owning and testing my baby around the roads, I'm finally able to give my views and thoughts on my baby Sapphire which is the Satria Neo CPS. I've actually wanted to write a review on the car for quite some time as there wasn't many detailed review to be found and knowing that there are still many Satria fanboys and car enthusiast alike out here wanting to know more about the car.

Well first of all, I would like to say that I'm very fortunate to be able to own and drive one (cheaper sports car) which still not many can afford considering its priced close to 60k. Not to say that people here aren't rich but the rich do have their own "toys" as well for example, the Type-Rs, the Lancers, the Subarus, or if you have more money to burn, you could say a VW Scirocco, Porch 911 Turbo, Lambo Gallardo, or even go for a Ferrari.

Anyway, lets talk about the cheapest sports car on the local market right now. Having driven it around for almost up to 3000km now and also the experience of taking it all the way up to Genting, I would say this is a pretty decent car and it definitely won't disappoint you.

Starting off with the exterior, with the new CPS body kit and the white paint job, the car does actually look quite attractive on the roads. Honestly speaking, I do get a lot of head-turning drivers checking out my car. I remembered once (and this is only one of many stories) when I drove and parked my car in front of a dim-sum restaurant, I was sitting right in front of my car and I had this uncle walking up and checking it out with that "this car looks awesome" look on his face. Some might even call this is a "chick magnet". Well, a cheap "chick magnet" I would say.

Okay now besides that, how does the car actually drives? If you ask me, I can definitely say this is a driver's car as in its much much thrilling and fun to drive then say, a car the likes of a Honda City which is obviously a family car made for comfort. The Neo does handle pretty nicely and it gives you full confidence heading into a corner. Some might say its because its a hatchback and its a two door car but I do believe that it was all down to Lotus tuned ride and handling and it is not just a marketing gimmick.

Under the hood of the car you have a Campro CPS engine which is currently the best engine you can get from Proton. The 1.6 engine is not the best in terms of fuel efficiency and a full tank of 40liters will probably give you around 450km max on the road which is pretty sad compared to a 1.5 Honda City which can give 600km on a full tank. The engine itself is actually quite good but its still lacks a bit on the lower end torque. One particular feature about this CPS engine is that it has two lifts, the low and the high. The low lift is of course just for your everyday eco-drive on the roads while the high lift is where you want to chase some Merc or BMW down. The high lift or activation point of the CPS is at 4,400rpm and I gotta say it does feel pretty awesome when it activates and the power kicks in. However, it does drink up a lot of what's in your fuel tank but still I gotta say its very addictive.

As for the transmission, there are both auto and manual to choose from. Most would recommend the manual and I strongly agree with that mainly because I've tested out the auto which really sucked. In "sucked" I mean the car just feels kinda normal, lazy, boring and uninspiring to drive (no offense to auto CPS owners). Before getting the manual CPS, my parents was like "are you sure about this?", "do you still know how to drive a manual?", and most notably "the jam will KILL YOU". Anyhow, I still got the manual CPS and at first it was tough on me cuz I've never driven a manual since getting my driving license which was about more or less 3 years ago. Embarrassingly, when I first took my car, my engine died 4 times on the way home. I must say my engine died frequently in my outing for the first few weeks. Now I'm pretty much used to it or should I say I'm actually obsessed with it. I do miss my car a lot when I drive the others.

Not to forget, the interior of the car has been enhanced with leather seats and leather wrapped steering as well. According to my friends, front passenger seats are actually quite comfortable however, the same can't be said about the back. Yes, it is leather seats as well but there just isn't much space to be sitting comfortably. I guess this car was really meant for two passengers only.

Okay, I just noticed I've written too much and I myself am getting kinda tired here so I'll just make it short and simple here for now. Overall, its a pretty awesome car and with that price, I would have given it probably a 4.5/5 but then it just falls short on that. It's not that the car is lousy but its just what Proton is famous for, DEFECTS. I was really angry that after getting the car, I had so many problems with it and I had to go back and forth about 2-3 times just to get the car all fixed up. Even when I first got my car, the back number plate light wasn't working, the interior light wasn't working, and the worst was my wiper malfunction which scratched my windscreen. After that, I had problem with high speed where I could hear wind sound coming through, problem with my power window and even my tire had a defect so good job to the guys a Proton. Keep it up!

It's just bullshits with Proton wanting to improve and compete with the big boys. I know we should support our local brand but damnit people, don't you see how bad the quality of the products are? You know why people like me bash Proton? Your answer is exactly the above. I do like my Neo CPS and I think its a great car but the troubles I've been through is just disappointing and I wouldn't even want to look at a Proton in the future if I could afford others.

Had an awesome week which I'm gonna be telling about in my later post. From there, my mood just went downhill as the day goes by. Not to say I'm unhappy or anything but its been normal and okay up till yesterday when I started listening to some new emo songs which you know, just makes you feel sad as well. I actually started listening to Lady Antebellum's Need You Now after heard it while watching American Idol (I don't usually follow but cuz my mom was watching so yea...). Since then the song has been playing on repeat which really makes me emo as well.

But that's not my favorite song now. It has actually been taken over by Sara Bareilles' Gravity which is a really really great song. (really emo) How such a simple lyrics can really mean so much. I actually heard it during one of So You Think You Can Dance performances and after listening to it again while playing pool (yea, it was playing at a pool center, freaking emo!!!), its a really really nice song.

Earthquake!

Okay, this is not the first time I have felt an after shock from an earthquake from the neighboring countries, more oftenly, Indonesia. I'm actually writing this as I experienced the trembling of my house just minutes ago and which ermmm... actually made my internet lag as well. So with a little research on the internet after that, I found out that it really was an earthquake which happened in Simuelue, Indonesia.

I don't really know how to describe it but it was definitely scary as I was able to feel 2 aftershocks and the bare sight of my monitor moving back and forth does not help a bit either. Well, I'm actually living on a house which was build on a few pillars below which I don't think is strong enough to hold any major trembling if it does happen. I'm no engineer but the pillars doesn't look solid at all. Anyway, its not that my house is super tall or anything but it does dish out quite a bit of a shake if your actually in the house.

Remember when a 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck Sumatra in September of last year, I was able to feel it and the worst part was seeing the alter banging softly against the wall. That was pretty sick and I actually ran out of the house with my dad just to be safe.

Anyhow, knowing and feeling an earthquake wasn't the best experience. With such slight tremble, it already sent a chill down my spine, I wouldn't want to imagine what's it like being over there in Indonesia. I certainly hope its nothing serious.

One more thing, I always thought CNN had like very updated and the very latest on world happenings but I kept searching and there wasn't any news which almost led to me thinking that it was just me and I'm just being too tired and I really need to go to bed since its 6am in the morning. Not giving up, I googled "asia earthquake" and I got a result from one U.S Geological Survey which showed exactly this...



As we know, there are loads of earthquake happening these days, Malaysia had one small one which really was a huge surprised at it has never happened before, just a few days ago there was one over at Mexico, and now Indonesia again. So, is the world really coming to an end?

Anyway, I do seriously hope nothing catastrophic is going to happen over there and I wish that everyone over there is in good condition.

Spanish Lesson


A SPANISH Teacher was explaining to her class that in Spanish, unlike English, nouns are designated as either masculine or feminine.


'House' for instance, is feminine: 'la casa.'
'Pencil,' however, is masculine: 'el lapiz.'


A student asked, 'What gender is 'computer'?'


Instead of giving the answer, the teacher split the class into two groups, male and female,

and asked them to decide for themselves whether computer' should be a masculine or a feminine noun. Each group was asked to give four reasons for its recommendation.


The men's group decided that 'computer' should definitely be of the feminine gender ('la computadora'), because:

1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic;

2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else;

3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for possible later retrieval; and

4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself
spending half your paycheck on accessories for it.

The women's group, however, concluded that computers should be Masculine ('el computador'), because:

1. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on;

2. They have a lot of data but still can't think for themselves;

3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they ARE the problem; and

4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you had waited a little longer, you could have gotten a better model.

No More Wishing

I've finally caught up with watching the new season 5 of How I Met Your Mother (MIMYM). However, I've only like downloaded half of it so I'm pretty much stuck at half way of the season. Gotta get my uTorrent all busy and having a slow internet connection for the rest of the week.

Anyhow, I still can't get enough of it so I'm pretty much re-watching the previous seasons now. One particular episode from season 4 had this song at the end of it which was pretty nice so I just decided to post it up here.

Breakeven

I've been just sitting, staring up into the ceiling and just letting my mind wonder and think about stuff. It's just stuff that I don't really know how to put into words let alone describe it. I've never been good at it and I doubt it's gonna get any better now.

Anyway, there's this wonderful song from The Script which has been playing on repeat for probably the whole night now. It's called Breakeven and its probably one of those songs that could be related to what's running through my mind right now.

Well, it's definitely late now so gonna be listening to it for a bit now before I go to sleep...

Yeap, that's probably what our blogs would sound like when Twitter finally takes over the world. Anyway, to all the Twittering peeps out there, this is something hilarious for ya to watch by David Letterman.



Until he mention it there, its pretty funny actually where you see people just posting up their current status, like what their doing at the moment, or maybe once in every hour. Fortunate for me, I'm still not really addicted to it yet. Considering there are millions of people twittering as we speak, still most of the people around me, like friends aren't even using twitter at the mo so its really, honestly saying, its pretty boring twitting but I'm still using it only to show that I'm up to date with the latest technology and trend. (okay, it's not the latest tech) :P

Anyway, its late in the night now and there's some stupid dog outside my house barking like none stop. Once he was even looking across my window barking for god-knows-what until I chase him off.Owh wait... this just cross my mind. Now I know what I have to do...

Last Words

I just had a chat with a good buddy last night and we had this conversation about his ex. It was a really sad experience from my friend as he told me he really liked this girl but somehow over the course of the 4 year relationship, she changed. She changed in a way that she realized that money was very important and she should be finding a boyfriend who is rich. One part of it was that she also had a friend who probably wasn't that pretty and all but still had a rich boyfriend. So thinking that even her ugly friend could get a rich guy, why not her? hence she cheated on my buddy and went out with this other rich guy who was courting her at that time.

Thing is, I've known my friend for quite some time and my honest opinion is that he is a really nice person, a great friend, and definitely one who treats his girlfriend very well. But he wasn't rich. It's just sickening to know that a girl would actually give in to money and throw away a boyfriend who loves and threats her very well.

Anyway, they (my friend and ex) broke up and the girl was actually in a relationship with the rich guy until just yesterday. I was told it wasn't even a year into the relationship and the reason for the break up was because she did not like his attitude and all. Well, I knew all this because this girl was actually looking for my friend after the break up but I'm just really glad that my friend is already with someone better who appreciates him for himself and not for what he has. Hence, here's one quote from a friend of mine (forgot who) and it goes "Date the guy, NOT date his car". Well, you get the drill.

Finally, we do realize that we don't really appreciate what is in front of us until its gone. People are usually so caught up in themselves and their own life that they forgot to think about the people around em. And from my friends experience, I should probably say that as much as you like a person and if the person doesn't appreciate you, you should probably stop wasting your time as there would be that someone out there still kindly in wait for you to really take and appreciate what you have to give.

Sneakers and some funny promotions

Gahhhh... my multipurpose shoe, also better known as my basketball shoe is finally giving way to wear and tear. The bottom has totally worn out with a huge hole in it which justified how I could slip and stumble to the ground on a rough surface.

Well, it just means its FINALLY time to change me shoes. I'm probably thinking of getting this...

You should probably know I'm a HUGE fan of Kobe Bryant and the Lakers so he is definitely my best basketball player ahead of Michael Jordan. No idea why I'm kinda into purple stuff nowadays but the while and black plus purple trim just makes the shoe look so nice. But gosh, I think this shoe would cost me up to 500 bucks which is bit pricey :|(my most expensive is still the Adidas Kobe II costing 300 bucks 6 years ago, which still, looks pretty awesome)

Kia Forte

I wasn't planning on posting this but well, I was just trying to catch up on my favorite comedic series How I Met Your Mother on internet stream, but this shitty internet is too damn slow to load the whole video. So while waiting, I happened to read a test drive review on one of the hottest Kia on the road today, the Kia Forte.


My source is actually from Paultan.org which you can get ALMOST all of today's latest automotive news. However, due to how lengthy the test drive review was I decided to just cut it short here and go straight to the plus points and the not so satisfying part of the car.

To begin with, like all Kias in Malaysia, the car will be distributed by Naza Kia Sdn Bhd hence you could probably expect to have the Naza badge on the car instead of Kia. One thing to be noted about the Forte is that it is a C-Segment car (Civic, Altis, Lancer, Slyphy) and it has been priced here at the B-Segment cars (City, Vios).


Kia Forte 1.6 EX – RM75,800
Kia Forte 1.6 SX – RM81,800
Kia Forte 2.0 SX – RM93,800

Now, looking at the prices there, the range topping 2.0 SX comes in at RM94k and if you don't already know, the new facelifted Vios will be launching soon with a slight price hike and what has been confirmed is that the Vios 1.5 TRD Sportivo will be coming in at RM93k. So in comparison, you do actually need to pay an extra 1k to get a C-segment with 2.0 liter engine car which looks way better as well?

The man behind the Kia's revolutionary design is Peter Schreyer, the German who has previously worked with Audi which makes no surprises that the design of the car is just sportingly sleek and stunningly simplish to look at. Once I was tailgated by a new white Forte in town and I have to say having a look at the real thing is even more amazing.

Aside from its looks, the performance of the Forte is, well, I hate to say this but it seems it is a little bit disappointing to say the least. The 1.6 liter engine is adequate for daily use but it doesn't really leave much to be desired where 1.6l Gamma engine lacks the ohm or acceleration when you actually need it. The engine itself isn't all that great on highways and long distance cruising as well.


In any case, I'd have to remind you that the review and comparisons are made in the C-Segment range. Then again, you could probably say that this car isn't one of the best in the C-Segment range however if you take the price into consideration, this car is actually not that bad. For me, I believe this car would actually be better than the B-Segment cars and it definitely looksbetter than the City or the Vios. So if you ask me, I would definitely recommend the Forte :)

I'm just really having mixed feelings here. So many unanswered question I have in my mind right now, all the uncertainties, all the doubts, all the unknowns... Is it just me or things are just the way I'm seeing it?

Did I do the wrong thing? Did I say the wrong words? or am I just not good enough for you?

I could probably say I was disappointing... or maybe I should apologize for disappointing someone. If things could be better, even if it means me getting far and away, I would do it.

My Neo babe

Was gonna post this a few days back but was kinda caught up in some stuff. Anyway, I finally gotta have a look at my new car last weekend. As I was saying previously, the car is already ready and its now parked at the showroom and all I'm waiting for now is to get all the documents approved and number plates on before I could drive it home.

Anyway, here are some pictures I took of my babe just fresh out of the factory looking all dirty and unpolished.

Lotus Ride and Handling

I just happened to come across this a moment ago while browsing through some websites. Its the latest ad from Proton, have you guys seen it yet?



In my honest opinion, I think this is one of the better ads from Proton because it was done in a way to promote what is believed to be Proton's best asset in the car industry which is Lotus (ride and handling).

A certain part of the video really caught my attention actually. At 0:27, when the Persona is gonna overtake, notice that the car in front was a Toyota Passo (or Perodua Myvi in MAS) as well as a Toyota Altis. Well, Perodua and its Myvi is probably one of the biggest treat to Proton's share in the entry-level market so that probably explains the overtaking scene. Talking about sending a message to your customers and competitors eh?

But, I am not so sure when it comes to the Altis though cuz knowingly, the Altis is a much faster car with a 1.8 liter vvt-i engine fitted under the hood as to the 1.6 liter CamPro in the Persona. Probably cuz Toyota is the biggest player in the world market?

Finally, speaking of cars. I just got a call yesterday from my car dealer telling me that my car is ready for collection! :D

So I'd just need complete some documents and get a number plate, meaning I will MOST PROBABLY be getting me new car next weekend :)

Just finished work and I'm back home now looking forward to the weekend. I should be feeling happy right now but I'm not.

Thing is, I am actually having a really bad confidence crisis now which I have no idea of how should I go about it. Just this evening at work, my manager was asking me "Alex?! Why are you always doubting yourself?!" and I literally kept quite as I have no answer to that.

Its actually not a new thing for me either, I have been on zero-confidence for few years now?

Even when I had the confidence to step up just last weekend during a badminton match, I dissapointed my mates and lost what could have been some medals for the whole team.

Anyway, I just feel real bad now...

Bad Sporting Day?

What can I say... hmm... well, I just feel really bad and disappointed for myself right now.

Let me just explain from the top. Today was the sports carnival organized by the company for the whole Middle East sales office and we have been divided into four teams to compete in basketball, futsal, badminton as well as ping pong.

It was at a time when the team needed to get a crucial win in badminton over the nearest team to get at least a silver medal. What happened next was... I played, I sucked, and I lost which meant the team's final overall position was only 3rd placing. In other words, I also helped the team lost the silver medals.

Although we had won all the basketball matches, it still counted for nothing in the end...

I fucking hate losing...

I also broke my badminton racket in the process so I'm just gonna stop playing for until god-knows-when. Its also sad because this was my very first racket which I used when I started taking badminton seriously during primary 5th. This racket was picked out by my coach and has a slightly longer frame which was actually useful 11 years ago when I had short hands and feets.

Anyway, no excuses here, it was all my fault. Sorry team...

Old rule: You can tell if you’re truly attracted to someone in three seconds
New rule: You can’t tell if you’re truly attracted to someone until you’ve had three dates

“Love at first sight” is a familiar romantic notion. And in our increasingly fast-paced world, it’s darn convenient to think you can tell if you click with someone that quickly. Ultimately, it’s a better gauge to assess the quality of your thoughts rather than the quantity. “If you have warm and comfortable feelings when you think about your date, that indicates a relationship built on stability, trust, and a strong ‘friendship’ factor, denoting a relationship that will more likely wear well over time,” says Piers. If, on the other hand, your relationship keeps you up all night as you analyze this person’s e-mails for hidden messages that reveal his or her true feelings, you may be chasing down someone who doesn’t really want to be yours.
