Myvi Exclusive or just another "I hope this improves sales" Edition?

Alright Myvi or "Meeve" fans, here's another NEW toad-looking addition to the already large Perodua's Myvi line-up which includes Myvi original, Myvi SE original, Myvi facelifted and Myvi SE facelifted. (added the old original ones cuz there are still second hand options)

With the impending launch of their first compact MPV in November, Perodua has decided to roll out yet another Myvi called the Myvi EXCLUSIVE Edition! Now, with such a mind boggling name, I just can't help but wonder whats so exclusive about this new Myvi, so lets check out what does Perodua has installed for us here.

If your looking at the picture above and wondering if I'd mistakenly post the normal variant, the answer is NO, I DID NOT! IT IS the Exclusive Edition! The difference is, it has 14 inch alloy wheels similar to Myvi SE, side skirt (no front or back) and chrome door handles on the outside. Noticed it yet? Yeah, it took me awhile too.

On the inside, the chrome treatment continues on the inner door handles. The seats, door trims and steering wheel are wrapped with leather which is also bit similar to Myvi SE. The audio system is a 2-DIN system which supports CD, MP3 and bla bla bla... Its similar to Myvi SE as well so you'll get the dig.

And under the hood, you'll still get the similar 1.3 liter DVVT engine like the rest of the Myvi variants and that's about all that you get for this new Myvi EE at a price of RM51,000. By the way, this car is so exclusive that they are only producing 5000 units of it so better not wait or you'll miss out on this "rare" car on the road.

But seriously, this is just another lazy job and probably lousy job as well from Perodua in trying to grab more customers. I mean, just look at the car, its just a non-SE Myvi fitted with Myvi SE stuff, that's all there is to it. And then there is the name as well, EXCLUSIVE?! Seriously? give me a break Perodua, I bet people couldn't even tell if its Exclusive or not when they see it on the roads. And sadly enough, there wasn't any performance tweak to the car as well so it just remains the same as the normal Myvi and the Myvi SE.

Last of all , my verdict on this car is that it is just another Myvi on the road. If you're looking to be "special", your better off taking your Myvi to mod rather than getting this. I would say it is still buy-able however, one things for sure, you'll be riding in a so-called exclusive car but you ain't gonna be feeling any special from all the other normal Myvi owners out there.
